What student tickets are available?

You can buy the following student tickets:

  • 4 week (online or via the mTicket app)
  • Monthly Direct Debit sunscription (online only)
  • Term (online only)

Are there any age restrictions on the student tickets?

The student ticket is available for anyone over the age of 18* providing they are in full time education

* 16-18 year olds who are not eligible for the 16-18 card can also buy the student ticket.

How many hours a week do I need to be studying to be able to buy the student ticket?

You need to be studying full time (over 12 hours per week) to be eligible for the student ticket.

Do I need to carry proof of being a student?

You will need to provide proof of education within 10 days of ordering your student ticket via our web form.

You will also need to show a physical student ID card if requested by a member of staff whilst travelling. 

What proof do I need to send for my student ticket?

You will need to send an official letter headed document with the following information:

  • Your full name
  • Your course title
  • The number of hours you study per week or state full time (FT) hours
  • Your course start date
  • Your course end date
  • An official stamp or signature from the college / university

You will need to upload your student proof here.

Can I buy student tickets using contactless on the bus?

No, you cannot use contactless to buy a student ticket on the bus.

Student tickets can be bought online or selected tickets can be bought on our mTicket app.
