Fares Freeze for 2021

We are freezing our fares in 2021, meaning you won’t pay a penny more to board your local bus. It is important to us that bus travel is affordable and accessible for everyone.

Smart Ways to Pay

  • Top-up a smartcard - it’s simple, speedy and secure

  • If you are paying with cash, there is an exact fare policy on the bus, meaning our drivers cannot give change. This is for speed, simplicity and security.

Single Journeys

Single fares on the bus are like a pay-as-you go option if you don’t travel often. Check out the 10-TripSaver to save money on infrequent travel.

  • Short Hop (on the bus) - £1.15
  • Max Single (on the bus) - £1.50

The price of a journey is calculated based on the distance you are travelling on one bus: Short Hops are valid for up to one fare stage, and Max Singles are valid for two or more fare stages. Buy on the bus from the driver.

Special-rate single fares are charged on services 57a/59 | 73b | 137/138 | 139, as we operate them under Council contracts.

ABC - All Bus Companies

Easy access to all bus companies in Dundee and the surrounding areas with just one ticket.

  • ABCday - £3
  • ABCweek - £9.70

ABC is a multi-operator smartcard product which is available and valid on all bus companies in Dundee and the surrounding areas (Xplore Dundee, Stagecoach East Scotland and Moffat & Williamson). There is no limit on usage; you can travel on as many buses as you like within the ABC zones for as long as your pass is valid. Sign up for a smartcard at the Travel Centre and top-up on any bus.

Note: Due to this being a multi-operator product, Xplore Dundee’s offer of discounted travel to Young Scots does not apply. Therefore, adult prices apply to ABC tickets from the age of 16 and up.

Age & ID Policy

Remember: children are defined as being aged 5-15 years old and Young Scots are defined as 16-18 years old. Young Scots need to show their ID (which must include a photo and expiry date) when buying and using discounted tickets.

As the name suggests, we recommend using the Young Scot card as it is freely available. If you don’t already have one, visit young.scot to apply.
